Started in 2009 while studying at Ball State with Dr. Keith Sweger, the company grew out of curiosity and necessity. I began with making reeds for music education majors in 2008 at Ball State University. I was fascinated by the intricacies and variables in reed making. I studied as many methods as I could, and with as many reed makers, to come up with a method and style that works for myself and my clients.

Today, BB Reed Co. and its reeds are a culmination of the hours studying, masterclasses, experimenting, teaching, discussions, coaching, workshops, and whittling away at cane.
